New Report

I’ve added a new statistical report for you guys. You enter the airport ICAO code and it will provide you with a variety of information including the number of routes out of the airport, the destinations, and a list of the aircraft that were used on arrival.

Hope you get some use out of it.

Good day vPilots.

You may have noticed I did a little tweaking of the main page. You now login on the lower left and I’ve made it work similar to Windows Phones and Windows 8 which will be out this year. Rather than have a link in text to a part of the site I changed it so you can click anywhere inside the “bubble” and go to the page.

Also, I’ve obtained some tourism books on the Caribbean and South America from our local library so I’ll be working on routes in those areas over the next few weeks. These will give you some more touristy areas to fly around and I’ll be providing some information about each airport in the notes section of the schedule. It will give you an idea of what you can see in FS and some general info about the region. I hope you enjoy it!

Have a good week!

Hey vPilots I was just doing a flight in Turkey. It was route 8030 from Istanbul to Izmir. Very scenic with the approach into Izmir over the mountains and then over the bay landing on 16L. I have Ultimate Terrain X Europe and SceneryTech’s Landclass for this area but I’m sure the approach would be just as nice with the default scenery so long as you have mesh. The default scenery includes Istanbul.

I’ll be adding some long haul routes from Istanbul this week if you prefer those types.

If you haven’t read the news there’s a strike at Frankfurt and hundreds of flights are cancelled.

Strikes don’t affect vPilots so we’re ok. :)

Have a good week!

Welcome to another weekly report.

I’ve added some routes around Tehran, Iran, and now I’ve moved to the west and working on routes out of Istanbul, Turkey. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, what I like about FS’ing is that there’s no politics. We fly where we like and enjoy the scenery and challenges. I suggest you try some flights out of Tehran. It is a mountainous area and if you have some good mesh scenery and landclass you will see what I mean. The same goes for Istanbul with it’s approach over the bay.

Also, I’ve added two new reports to our Statistics page. The first one indicates Airport Statistics for the current year. This compliments the report which shows all time stats for airports. Another report is the Aircraft stats for this year which in turn compliments the all time report. I hope you enjoy these reports.

Have a good week!

Good day pilots.

I just read that MS Flight will be released on the 29th of February. I had hoped that they would make it a package as previous versions but purchasable online in complete form. It seems to me that they are giving the base package away for free but you can only fly in Hawaii on one island with it. From here on out you have to pay for the rest of the add-ons. That could be quite costly and a big mistake on their part I fear. Indeed it may signal the end of the MSFS franchise as we’ve to know it. We’ll see what they are up to in the coming months I guess.

However, it’s still alive and kickin at AmEuro and we’re not leaving the community. I’ve added some more routes and I’ve continued my journey and I’m now in Tehran, Iran. This is an interesting place as there are some mountainous regions to the north that will make for some scenic and challenging routes.

Until next week…

Good evening from HQ. It’s a snowy evening here in Toronto, Canada, but we won’t complain because it’s been a pretty warm winter in this area this year.

You may have noticed that I’ve added some routes to and around the South Pacific. On the weekend I picked up the Tahiti scenery pack by Aerosoft. So, you see, there’s no method to my scheduling. Just whatever gets my attention sometimes. Most of the time it’s Airways or Airliners magazine articles that inspire me to create routes. Other times is may be a TV show or something I buy.

Anyhow, you can now fly to Tahiti (NTAA – Faa’a) from Santiago, Chile (SCEL), and Sydney, Australia (YSSY). Plus, I’ll be adding some more routes within the archipelago besides Bora Bora and Faa’a.  Enjoy these routes. Even if you don’t have the Aerosoft package there is some nice freeware for FS2004 and FSX. The default scenery is ok, too.

While taking my break today at work an Emirates A380 came into CYYZ landing on runway 23R. I have a decent, albeit distant, view of aircraft landing on 23R from my place of work. That’s one monster of an airplane… even from 4 km away.

Have a good week!

Good day folks!

On my round the world tour I’m now in Doha, Qatar. I’ll be heading east from here I think so I can add some more routes from Asia.

I’ve added a route from CYSN (Niagara Falls, Canada) to CYOW (Ottawa, Canada). I’ll be adding more to CYSN as they are expanding this airport to accomodate small regional jets. Tourism is really big in this area with the Falls and Casino’s plus some attractions such as Marineland and the Welland Canal.

If there’s any airport, such as CYSN, that you think is left out but should be given more attention in real life, then shoot me an email and we’ll make some routes.

Have a good week!

Good day and welcome to our latest pilots George Rogers and Josh Swift!

I’ve been continuing my tour of the world. I left Cairo for Jiddah, Saudi Arabia, and now I’ve continued on to Dubai, UAE. I’ve added some flights from both airports for you.

I’ve watched the new TV Series named Arctic Air hoping it would be about flying but it’s really been more of a drama closer to a daytime soap opera than an aviation series. Too bad. I’ll have to stick with Ice Pilots for now. I have a friend who works in the Canadian Arctic and he says Buffalo Airways is not a luxurious airline and prefers to fly with Canadian North or Air Inuit.

Have a good week!

Good evening folks.

I’ve been adding some more routes for you to fly. I added routes from Athens (LGAV) to a few places in Greece plus Rome and Cairo. I’m partaking on an unplanned tour of the world and as I land at each airport I’ll be adding routes. Don’t ask where I’m going next because I don’t know. :) I’m in Cairo right now so you’ll see some routes around Egypt and the Mediterranean from there soon.

Check out the announcement from MS if you haven’t. They have announced a release time of MS Flight to be sometime in the spring. Right now it looks like we will only get Hawaii because all of the screenshots seem to be from there. It’s a free download as a trial version I presume.

Have a good week!

Welcome to 2012!

I apologize for the delay in approving PIREPS this weekend. We decided to spend the New Years weekend out of town for a change.

I’ve added some flights out of Budapest to some of the smaller cities in the region. They are Debrecen, Nyiregyhaza, and Szeged. Plus, I’ll be working on flights originating in Panama this week and next.

Have a good week!
