Good evening!

AmEuro is now serving cities in France from Paris Orly (LFPO). We are now flying from Orly to Lyon and Marseille on one route and Orly to Toulouse and Bordeaux on another. You can use a jet with 150 seats or less or a turboprop for this route. Typical use is an ATR-72.

Have a good week!

Good day pilots!

I’m taking a little break from scheduling to work on the site and do some flying myself.

Recently, we’ve added SBBR-SBCF-SBVT-SBCF-SBBR as a route. This is a route that’s flown by GOL and I thought it would be interesting to fly. The approach to SBVT is challenging as it’s a visual route around the bay to land on runway 05. It’s a very small bay that’s close to the airport. Also, I managed to find some good freeware scenery for SBBR and SBCF made by Terra Brasilis. The site is in Portuguese and all you have to do is click on the Download link at the top to find the sceneries.

In case you didn’t hear Delta Airlines in the USA has taken a big step and perhaps a bit of a risk. They’ve decided to purchase an oil refinery to make their fuel. They estimate it will save hundreds of millions of dollars per year. Read the details here.

Have a good week!

Welcome to another week of FS’ing.

I downloaded the DC-10 by Tom Ruth and Eric Cantu today. Everything about it is nice except the flight dynamics. There is either too much power or not enough friction because I was climbing at over 6,000 ft/min at over 300 knots with a moderate load. I’m looking forward to an update for this because they’ve done the rest of the aircraft nicely.

All is quiet at HQ. Just working on the schedules. We are up to 616 routes now serving 222 destinations in 46 countries and climbing.

Have a good week!

It’s been a little slow this month. I hope you guys are not getting bored with flying or disappointed with the future of FS. Drop us a note and let us know why you haven’t been flying. If there’s something I can do to get you back into the air I’d like to know. I’m sure some of the lack of flying is due to final exams for vPilots who are in University or College. It’s a busy time of the year for sure.

Meanwhile, I’ll be finishing up the Caribbean routes and then moving onto Asia, mainly Southeast Asia but I may throw in a few from Russia, too.

Until next week…

Welcome to Spring! It’s springtime in the northern hemisphere and we’ll be getting more and more daylight now so you can fly later in the evening if you prefer VFR, that is.

I’ve added some flights in the Caribbean for you to the ABC Islands from Venezuela.

I did a review of Quito, Ecuador, scenery at Simflight if you’re interested in that area. It’s from Boris Forero and it’s quite nice.

Have a good week and Happy Easter!

Good evening pilots!

I installed the latest version of kACARS this evening so make sure you are running version 1.0.1.1. You can download it from here if you don’t have it.

If anyone is interested in flying commuter aircraft you can join me at FS Economy. I just purchased a FBO at Ryoun-Noranda, Quebec, Canada. Shortly I’ll have a Beech 1900C there and eventually a Twin Otter. FS Economy is geared towards the prop driven aircraft and business jets and simulates an economy which the players of FSE have a large impact on. It’s too bad they don’t support the large jets. The flights you make there can be manually recorded at AmEuro, too, so you won’t lose any flying time on the logs.

I’ll still be focused on AmEuro though. No worries there. I recently added a long haul route from Manila to Honolulu.

Have a good week!

Howdy from the tropical Toronto, Canada. We’ve been getting higher than normal temps and even set a few records this March.

I’ve added some short haul routes out of RPVM (Cebu, Philippines) and I’m now working on some medium and long haul routes out of Eastern Europe. We are now serving Russia with initial flights to Moscow from London Heathrow.

Now that we’ve all seen what MS Flight has to offer it seems that developers are ignoring it and continuing with add-ons for FSX and FS2004 or moving over to X-Plane. At least we’ll have FSX or FS2004 to use for a few more years before MS comes to their senses and gives us a better version of FSX, but I’m not holding my breath.

AmEuro will be around so don’t go anywhere. I’ll be flying for a long time. Maybe in 5 years we’ll have a good enough computer to fly FSX at full sliders with detailed add-on scenery. :-)

If you haven’t checked it out look at Prepar3d. It’s a flight simulator using the FSX engine and is being developed by Lockheed Martin. It’s really expensive but if there’s enough interest they may be convinced to lower the price. Check it out at http://www.prepar3d.com.

Not much to report this week guys. I’ll be working on South American routes and I’ll add some long haul one’s for those who like them. I’ve added another route out of Niagara Falls/St.Catherine’s regional (CYSN) to Windsor as a short route if you like those.

Here’s a picture I took on a recent flight in South America using a TAM A320 in FSX.

Have a good week!

Sorry for my tardiness this week guys. It’s been really busy at work… which is a good thing.

I have added some routes in Peru and Paraguay in between the work schedule and managed to get some flights in, too. I’ll be working on a few more short routes in South America and then start to build on the long haul out of the same area.

I managed to try MS Flight again and I’m starting to like it a little more. It won’t replace FSX or FS2004 but it’s fun for 15 mins or so to kill a bit of time.

Have a good week!
